Support Staff

Possible duties for SUPPORT STAFF include:

  • Registration desk staff: greet teams from the high schools as they come in, provide name tags to teams, review schedule and explain the day's event as required, provide general information to visitors.
  • Equipment crew: make sure the buzzers and competition clocks are working and setup for the event, assist with room set up and take down during the day.
  • Runners: provide directions and assistance to participants in the South Campus center, run scores from competition events back to the main scoreboard.
  • University of Washington student volunteers: Create an Open House/Science Enhancement display. Provide an interesting visual display or exhibit, possibly with a brain teaser type questions for students to solve, about an aspect of aquatic science. Talk to high school students about your studies and/or research at UW, and answer questions from students interested in science.
  • Others: as needed to support an exciting and educational experience for high schol students
